To Print Your Newsletter
The following instructions apply to the MS
Internet Explorer Browser, but other browsers will be similar.
Get the newsletter in the browser window. At the left end of the top menu line click on FILE. Then click on Page Setup. You will get a Page Setup Box. At bottom set all four "margins" to .25 inches. Click OK. This should keep the right side from being cutoff during printing.
To print click on FILE again. Then click on PRINT. A new print box comes up. There should be a "Print Range" section where you can select "Print All" or "Print a Range of Pages". If you select print "all" normally it will be 7 pages. On subsequent issues you can select "Print Pages 1 - 7" and you should get all of the current news section.
To print page 2 with the permanent club information click on page 2 below and use the same instructions.

Guests: NONE (NOTE: remember to get your guest's email address and forward our newsletter to him/her.) ------ PROGRAM Ms Marilynn Wills, The League of Women Voters  A review of the Amendment process and a summary of the 9 proposed amendments on the ballot. There may be more. To keep up visit their web site at www.lwvtallahassee.org Also, she says it is a good idea to contact the Supervisor of Elections to get your registration signature updated. As we age our signatures change. Tabs and Cans John Ryor and Jim Varley took 76 lbs of aluminum cans to the recycler and got $26.60 for our admin fund. Thanks to Jim Varley for collecting them. Norm Mears and Marvin Doyal picked up and sold 333 pounds of Tabs at $.45 for a total of $l49.85 for Ronald McDonald House. They each spent 1 and 1/2 hours. Shopping For Undies JOHNNYE L. spemt $102.81 while saving $193.84 shopping for The Refuge House at Bealls, courtesy of Manager Jim Gooden. NEW MEMBER INDUCTION BILL DAWKINS, sponsored by President Jim Barger, was inducted Thursday. He is a Tallahassee native married to Wanda. Immunization Board Thanks to Jim Varley who has agreed to represent us and Division 3 on the Board which has been formed to encourage the immunization of children in the Division 3 area (Leon, Gadsden,Jefferson, and Wakulla Counties). DESKS FOR THE RALPH DAVIS KIWANIS HOUSE STUDENTS
Five have been delivered.  One finished product. NEW CLUB BUILDING JIM WYLIE announced the formation of a new Kiwanis Club in the Bradfordville area. They will be meeting at the Christ Presbyterian Church on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at noon. Jim explained "DUAL MEMBERSHIP" and asked our members to consider becoming Dual Members of this new club to help them get started. There will be an initial fee of $75 which will go to KI and The Florida District; and $10 per month dues. Nine more members are needed to charter. Officer/Club Leader Training

TOMMY MILLS AND HIS MOTOR CYCLING FRIENDS are headed west. They will meet their spouses in Seattle and make their way back to us. THE LATOURS have been sending travelogue reports from Italy. Next to the Greek Islands and will be back with us in a coupe of weeks. Richard Ziegler and Jim Varley (and his wife Perha) will be at the Monticello Water Mellon Festival for the 5K run. Keep our ill and grieving members and families, and travelers in your prayers. Potential Program for prior to August Vicki Schaefer 893-3793 A program about a missionary type trip to Nicaragua. May was Membership Promotion Month, but keep it going. John Ryor wants us to make a special effort to bring a potential member to a meeting. The goal is for each member to bring at least one guest. John issued a KI booklet, Kiwanis Is A Verb for each of us to read and use to help find potential members. If you didn't get a copy ask him. Give one to you potential members. ----- MEMBERSHIP GROWTH EMPHASIS John Ryor has worked very hard to develop a new approach to help our club grow. The goal is to reach 40 members, a size that we will be able to accommodate physically and give us a good group to support the projects we want achieve. It would help if you rinse them out and crush them. PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIR NEEDS HELP KATHY COLE is public relations chair and needs your help with articles on our many projects. Give her as many details as possible and she will submit an article. We need to publicize our service as much as possible. It will help with membership growth. Are Your Dues Due? Treasurer Bob Downing asks that you check whether or not your records show you are up to date in your dues, and if not, pay them ASAP. Collect Wire Clothes Hangers This is an on-going Southside Club project to raise funds for their children's projects. Clean out your closets and bring in the hangers. Bring them to the meeting and Chuck Walter will give them to Gavin Boone who will take them to the Southside Club. Thanks to those who have done this. Keep it up. COMING THIS FALL The New Builders Club at Deer Lake Middle School has been delayed until the next adminstrative year beginning October 1st, 2010. We have people dedicated to the Key Club, two K-Kids clubs and the AKtion Club. We need new people to help with this. Planning needs to get started early. When someone asks you about it invite them to breakfast on the club. INTERCLUBS PLANNED Don Griffin has agreed to take Interclub meeting scheduling for the rest of the year. Give him your support. Each member is encouraged to attend at lest one interclub meeting each year. Easy ways to do it are: Division 3 quarterly meetings, AKtion club meetings, Key Club and K-Kids meetings when in session. IF ENOUGH MEMBERS ATTEND. For every inter-club our club completes between October 1, 2009 and March 1, 2010, we will receive one entry into a drawing for a Garmin GPS Navigator! The drawing will be held at the Zone 3 Conference and Governor’s Visit on March 13th, 2010. The more inter-clubs our club participates in, the better chance our club has at winning the prize!! Bob Bull said it was an impressive ceremony. ------ Aktion needs one of our members to volunteer to handle arrangements for their car wash fund raiser. Ask Bob Bull what is involved. ----- Many AKtion Clubbers are involved in The Miracle Activities this season on Thursdays so the club attendance is down. ----- Every member ought to experience an AKtion Club Meeting, or project. ------- Collecting canned and dry food for The Adopted Family at each Meeting. FOR THANKSGIVING $200 worth of groceries deliverd to last year's adopted family (a mother with 5 children). FOR A NEW CHRISTMAS ADOPTED FAMILY Can and dry goods are being accumulated. ------Richard Zeigler has been keeping up with some previous scholarship winners and has learned Maria is planning to go to Thailand to work with a medical group and Holly is returning to Tallahassee to work during the summer. Ruby K Award If you have recruited 5 or more members you are eligible for this award; that is, if you can remember their names. Give the names of your recruits to George Sweat and maybe he will get the pin for you. Awards are made for increments of five members recruited. COMMITTEE CHAIRS SUBMIT ALL YOUR MONTHLY REPORTS FOR THIS YEAR. It is the only way your committee can be eligible for District awards. If you get behind you can catch up on the past due reports. A list of District Awards and the criteria is available on the District web site at 2009-2010 District Awards Criteria Find your District Committee Counterpart and communicate with him/her. Florida District Committee Chairs "Brag For A Buck" Just give a buck and state your brag in one minute or less. HOW TO MAKE UP MISSED MEETINGS TO MAINTAIN YOUR PERFECT ATTENDANCE RECORD Simply attend a meeting of another club, including AKtion, Key, K-Kids, or another Kiwanis Club, a Division Council meeting, a club project, or a Board meeting. With all these possibilities there is little reason not to have perfect attendance. PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARDS Tell Al Eppinger how many years are shown on your current perfect attendance tab, if you have one. Also, tell him how many years you have earned. This includes previous membership in other Kiwanis clubs. This is not for calender years. It is for one year of consecutive meetings and/or makeups.
