To Print Your Newsletter
The following instructions apply to the MS
Internet Explorer Browser, but other browsers will be similar.
Get the newsletter in the browser window. At the left end of the top menu line click on FILE. Then click on Page Setup. You will get a Page Setup Box. At bottom set all four "margins" to .25 inches. Click OK. This should keep the right side from being cutoff during printing.
To print click on FILE again. Then click on PRINT. A new print box comes up. There should be a "Print Range" section where you can select "Print All" or "Print a Range of Pages". If you select print "all" normally it will be 7 pages. On subsequent issues you can select "Print Pages 1 - 7" and you should get all of the current news section.
To print page 2 with the permanent club information click on page 2 below and use the same instructions.

Elect Tommy Mills; JIM WYLIE delivering onions again.  ------ PROGRAM Brooke Lochoore, VP Goodwill Industries  A little history, including origins in a church. The broad expanse of the organization and the many programs that it has to assist handicapped and less fortunate in the community. Ronald McDonald House Tabs Tommy Mills and Marvin Doyal picked up and sold 332 pounds of tabs at 40 cents a pound for a total of $132.80. They each spent two hours. Nominations

JOHNNYE agreed to continue and JOHN RYOR will fill FACKENDER'S seat. Directors continuing until September 2011 Pam Cooper .... George Sweat .... Norm Mears..... The Election will be May 27th. Nominations from the floor will be allowed next week (20th); BUT REMEMBER, the nominee must have agreed to serve if elected. THANKS TO ALL THESE FOLKS WHO HAVE AGREED TO BE PART OF THE LEADERSHIP. NOW, IT IS UP TO US TO SUPPORT THEM BY PARTICIAPATING IN THE PROGRAMS THEY DEVELOPE. listed at the bottom of the green column to the left. President Jim announced these teams and their purposes in his initial meeting back in October. A VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY A find raiser for Big Bend Hospice is being held July 12th at Coventry Farms in back of Eastgate. Help is needed to assist with parking on two shifts; 8 AM - 1 PM, and 9 AM - 2 PM. President Jim has more details. Sounds like a simple job for a worthy cause. So far BETH CARTER has signed up. MEMBER NOTES The VARLEYS must be traveling. Keep our ill and grieving members and families, and travelers in your prayers. Golf Tournament Preliminary Proceeds are $8,412.49. Plus there is $400 more in matching donations expected. There remains "Thank You" cards and letters to be sent to players, donors and sponsors. This is why it is so important that complete information be provided on the forms. Just the ommission of zip codes causes extra work for the data keepers. ----- A committee of Eppinger, Ryor, Mears and Griffin will handle the above "Thank You" assignment. BETH CARTER volunteered to help also. -------- GOLF CRITIQUE A critique will be held after our regualr meeting on May 20th. If you noticed anything that needs attention write it down and stay and bring it up. May is Membership Promotion Month John Ryor wants us to make a special effort to bring a potential member to a meeting. The goal is for each member to bring at least one guest. John issued a KI booklet, Kiwanis Is A Verb for each of us to read and use to help find potential members. If you didn't get a copy as him. ----- MEMBERSHIP GROWTH EMPHASIS John Ryor has worked very hard to develop a new approach to help our club grow. The goal is to reach 40 members, a size that we will be able to accommodate physically and give us a good group to support the projects we want achieve. It would help if you rinse them out and crush them. PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIR NEEDS HELP KATHY COLE is public relations chair and needs your help with articles on our many projects. Give her as many details as possible and she will submit an article. We need to publicize our service as much as possible. It will help with membership growth. Are Your Dues Due? Treasurer Bob Downing asks that you check whether or not your records show you are up to date in your dues, and if not, pay them ASAP. Collect Wire Clothes Hangers This is an on-going Southside Club project to raise funds for their children's projects. Clean out your closets and bring in the hangers. Bring them to the meeting and Chuck Walter will give them to Gavin Boone who will take them to the Southside Club. Thanks to those who have done this. Keep it up. COMING THIS FALL The New Builders Club at Deer Lake Middle School has been delayed until the next adminstrative year beginning October 1st, 2010. We have people dedicated to the Key Club, two K-Kids clubs and the AKtion Club. We need new people to help with this. Planning needs to get started early. Paul Downing requests that someone agree to help him with Interclub meeting scheduling for the rest of the year. Give him your support. Each member is encouraged to attend at lest one interclub meeting each year. Easy ways to do it are: Division 3 quarterly meetings, AKtion club meetings, Key Club and K-Kids meetings when in session. IF ENOUGH MEMBERS ATTEND. For every inter-club our club completes between October 1, 2009 and March 1, 2010, we will receive one entry into a drawing for a Garmin GPS Navigator! The drawing will be held at the Zone 3 Conference and Governor’s Visit on March 13th, 2010. The more inter-clubs our club participates in, the better chance our club has at winning the prize!! Bob Bull said it was an impressive ceremony. ------ Aktion needs one of our members to volunteer to handle arrangements for their car wash fund raiser. Ask Bob Bull what is involved. ----- A Special request from an Aktion Club member. Come to the Miracle League Field an watch them play on May 13th and 20th at 7 PM. ----- Many AKtion Clubbers are involved in The Miracle Activities this season on Thursdays so the club attendance is down. ----- Every member ought to experience an AKtion Club Meeting, or project. ------- Dog Wash at The Humane Society, SATURDAY, May 8th. BOB DOWNING attended with 6 Aktion Club members. BOB GRAGNANI had his dog washed and praised the Aktion club washers. ----- Collecting canned and dry food for The Adopted Family at each Meeting. FOR THANKSGIVING $200 worth of groceries deliverd to last year's adopted family (a mother with 5 children). FOR A NEW CHRISTMAS ADOPTED FAMILY Can and dry goods are being accumulated. COMMITTEE CHAIRS SUBMIT ALL YOUR MONTHLY REPORTS FOR THIS YEAR. It is the only way your committee can be eligible for District awards. If you get behind you can catch up on the past due reports. HOW TO MAKE UP MISSED MEETINGS TO MAINTAIN YOUR PERFECT ATTENDANCE RECORD Simply attend a meeting of another club, including AKtion, Key, K-Kids, or another Kiwanis Club, a Division Council meeting, a club project, or a Board meeting. With all these possibilities there is little reason not to have perfect attendance. PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARDS Tell Al Eppinger how many years are shown on your current perfect attendance tab, if you have one. Also, tell him how many years you have earned. This includes previous membership in other Kiwanis clubs. This is not for calender years. It is for one year of consecutive meetings and/or makeups.
