DeSoto Trail K-Kids Projects
Science and Technology Expo( April 22nd) as well as
"Earth Day" (also April 22nd) For Earth Day, over the next few weeks, the
students will collect plastic bags (the kind used at department stores and
grocery stores) and present them at an "Earth Day" to be held at the Capitol on
the morning of April 22nd. Secondly, the Council members will help with
greeting, enrolling and directing exhibitors to their appropriate places during
the Expo. The Expo will begin at 4PM with the enrolling of exhibitors and
the parking of their vehicles (behind the school and we (Kiwanians) will assist in these
efforts as needed, particularly with the parking function). We will also need
to help with parking up at the strip mall (near Hancock Bank). The actual
program will begin at 6PM and will end around 8PM. All the money raised from
exhibitors and sponsors is used to keep Desoto Trails Technolgy up to speed. We can help with the plastic bag project by collecting bags and bringing them
to school. John Ryor will try to
secure a container like the one at Publix to use at the school so students have
a central drop off for the bags they collect. If anyone is interested in being a judge of the student
science projects let John know, They can always use more judges. Potential Speaker Al Rothstein, Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys elderissues@rothsteinmedia.com,

Golf Tournament Only about 5 weeks left to work on it. Forms
for players, prize donors and sponsors/partners are available at the
sign-in table. PICK SOME UP AND GET OUT THERE AND USE THEM. They have also been emailed to all members and posted on
our website where they can be easily downloaded and printed at anytime. Instructions were emailed March 11th. Instead
of just soliciting sponsorships for the golf tournament Al has
suggested we solicit Partners/Sponsors for year round support of our
Community Service Programs. Partners/Sponsors will get the same
recognition as in the golf tournament but, in addition, will be listed
on a new page of our web site. The minimum sponsor amount is $150 but
more is encouraged. Al has developed a new information sheet to
use along with the new Collage that was handed out earlier. If you did
not get one
contact Al. An article is coming up in the Killearn Kloverleaf April 1st. ------ Please pick up some posters and player forms and ask merchants if you can post them.

are up to date in your dues, and if not, pay them ASAP. Collect Wire Clothes Hangers This
