How To Print
Your Newsletter
The following
instructions apply to the MS Internet Explorer Browser, but other browsers
will be similar.
Get the newsletter in the browser window. At the left end of the top menu line click on FILE. Then click on Page Setup. You will get a Page Setup Box. At bottom set all four "margins" to .25 inches. Click OK. This should keep the right side from being cutoff during printing.
To print click on FILE again. Then click on PRINT. A new print box comes up. There should be a "Print Range" section where you can select "Print All" or "Print a Range of Pages". If you select print "all" normally it will be 7 pages. On subsequent issues you can select "Print Pages 1 - 7" and you should get all of the current news section.
To print page 2 with the permanent club information click on page 2 below and use the same instructions.

recollections of WWII destroyer duty in the Pacific as an ensign fresh
out of the Naval Academy; first navigator experiences; Fast
Carrier Task Force duty during the famous Marianna Turkey Shoot in the
Battle of the Philipine Sea; night time recovery of desparate aircraft
returning low on fuel in the dark, and then rescue of survivors of
ditchings.
NOTE: Personal experiences are encouraged programs. Don't be shy to tell us what you have done in your personal and professional life. It is always very interesting to learn about opur fellow members and frequently very surprising to learn about unexpected talents that we have among us. Rick Theobald receiving checks for the Haiti Relief Fund Donations for Haiti Earthquake Victims Bob Bull reports that ourTallahassee LARC AKtion Club voted to contribute $100.00 to the Haitian Earthquake Relief Effort. These funds will be presented to our club at our next regular meeting on Thursday the 21st of January for passing on for the oversight of our Kiwanian Rick Theobald. It would be nice if the individual membership saw fit to participate as their ability to do so permits. Also, on Thursday an email from the Florida District regarding ways to contribute was forwarded to all members. --- At this meeting we passed the hat and raised $189.00 not counting the $100 from the AKtion Club. Please note the Blue Light Teams listed at the bottom of the green column to the left. President Jim announced these teams and their purposes in his initial meeting back in October. Lake Jackson Club Fund Raisers - Angus Beef Raffle (500lbs) Feb 13th 7 PM to benefit the Lighthouse Children's Home. Tickets are $3 or 4 for $10. You can accept cash in lieu of beef. ---- - Black Coffee Play at the Tallahassee Little Theater Feb 4th 8 PM $20 per person ----- Contact President Bill Fritchman 385-5947, or Sec Keith Roberts 562-2870 MEMBER NOTES Keep our ill and grieving members and families, and travelers in your prayers. 2010 Partners/Sponsors A new fund raising concept above and beyond the Golf Tournament. Instead of just soliciting sponsorships for the golf tournament Al has suggested we solicit Partners/Sponsors for year round support of our Community Service Programs. Partners/Sponsors will get the same recognition as in the golf tournament but, in addition, will be listed on a new page of our web site. Go to this link to see what to ask for from the prospective partners/sponsors on your list. Read it carefully and print it to have it available to refer to before you approach a prospect. MEMBERSHIP GROWTH AWARDS The Kiwanis International 1-2-3, You Hold The Key Awards Program Sponsor members: (1) earns a bronze key, (2) a silver, and (3) a gold. It would help if you rinse them out. PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIR NEEDS HELP KATHY COLE is public relations chair and needs your help with articles on our many projects. Give her as many details as possible and she will submit an article. We need to publicize our service as much as possible. It will help with membership growth. ---- Kathy submitted an article about our K-Kids clubs in this month's Killearn Kloverleaf. Are Your Dues Due? Treasurer Bob Downing asks that you check whether or not your records show you are up to date in your dues, and if not, pay them soon. Collect Wire Clothes Hangers This is an on-going Southside Club project to raise funds for their children's projects. Clean out your closets and bring in the hangers. Bring them to the meeting and Chuck Walter will give them to Gavin Boone who will take them to the Southside Club. Thanks to those who have done this. Keep it up. Another project for you to help. The New Builders Club at Deer Lake Middle School has been delayed until the next adminstrative year beginning October 1st, 2010. Planning needs to get started early. Ruby K Award If you have recruited 5 or more members you are eligible for this award; that is, if you can remember their names. Give the names of your recruits to George Sweat and maybe he will get the pin for you. Awards are made for increments of five members recruited. COMMITTEE CHAIRS SUBMIT ALL YOUR MONTHLY REPORTS FOR THIS YEAR. It is the only way your committee can be eligible for District awards. If you get behind you can catch up on the past due reports. A list of District Awards and the criteria is available on the District web site at 2009-2010 District Awards Criteria Find your District Committee Counterpart and communicate with him/her. Florida District Committee Chairs "Brag For A Buck" Just give a buck and state your brag in one minute or less. HOW TO MAKE UP MISSED MEETINGS TO MAINTAIN YOUR PERFECT ATTENDANCE RECORD Simply attend a meeting of another club, including AKtion, Key, K-Kids, or another Kiwanis Club, a Division Council meeting, a club project, or a Board meeting. With all these possibilities there is little reason not to have perfect attendance. To Do List: Get your guest's email address and send him/her the link to our Newsletter each week. Increase your efforts for the
coming year. PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARDS Tell Al Eppinger how many years are shown on your current perfect attendance tab, if you have one. Also, tell him how many years you have earned. This includes previous membership in other Kiwanis clubs. This is not for calender years. It is for one year of consecutive meetings and/or makeups.
