Kids Voting This Tuesday, November 4th, at the N.E. Library this year. Sign up sheet is circulating. Call Dave Colombo about how you can fill in a needed slot. There seem to be many openings left. Also, we will have the opportunity to help at DeSoto Trail Elementary
Thanksgiving Baskets for Gretchen Everhart Families. Member
Darrin Holloman will get us a list of the families and our members will
have the opportunity to shop and deliver the Thanksgiving dinners. Of
course, the Club pays the bill. More details soon.
AKtion Club Adopted Family Bob
Bull reported on the single mother with 4 or 5 children who has been
adopted this year by the AKtion Club. Bob requests that we bring in
canned goods or dry goods for this worthy purpose.

HUMAN &
SPIRITUAL AIMS
from LeRoy Thompson If God is your Co-pilot - swap seats! Gretchen Everhart Project Our
"construction manager" Charlie Esher, will lead the contruction of a
new "Musical Bass Wall" at the GE playground. Wednesday,
October 22nd Al Eppinger, Tommy Mills, Steve Mayberry, and Norm Mears
met at Charley Esher's house to assemble, prime and create
additional parts for the BIG fish which eventually will be mounted at
Gretchen-Everhart school. Charley had a number of the components
cut out and ready for assembly. Tommy had the various lengths of tubes
cut and ready for to drill the holes and he started the prime coat on the
waves. Al brought the hose material that will go into the gong
assembly. Norm brought the chains, unfortunately in working on them at his
house, he hurt his finger, we hope he recovers quickly. Steve brought the
desire and proceeded to do all the hard work. Each player donated about 5
hours to the project (secretary may wish to vary these total hours to
suit) Charley stood and watched. Betty served lemonade and a good time was had
by 4 of us. The fellowship involved in such projects is usuall the best part overall. More work opportunities will be available Wednesday, Nov 5th or 12th to finish up. Check with Charley.
Southside Kiwanis Gavin Boone gave a status report on the Southside Club including their new web site at www.southsidekiwanis.org
and a Family Day project at Southwood on November 11th. He circulated a
list to sign up to help with some of the fun projects. If you have
some time to enjoy fellowship with the Southside members on this
worthwhile project call Gavin at 556-8705. ------- If
you know of people who live or
work in that area give their name and number to Al Eppinger to pass on to the Southside Club.

The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall to Visit Tallahassee This Coming Week, Nov. 6-11. Service Opportunity The Veteren's Memorial Traveling Wall will be here from November 7th to 11th.
They are looking for volunteers to read names for 20 minute blocks. What an
incredible way to honor our fallen heroes in a very special way. This can be
done by students or adults. I myself am going to read names on Monday night.
There will be people reading from 7AM to 7PM on the days that the wall is here.
Please let me know what days and times you have signed up for and I will try to
come and support you. If you or your club is interested in participating in
this activity the contact information is
Becky
Eccard. You need to tell her what days
and times you are available.
Click here to read about it courtesy of Bob Gragnani. Miracle Field News

The
dedication is scheduled for Wednesday, November 5th at 11:30 AM. All
are invited. There was some report about lunch being served. Paul
Downing gave a report of his observations at the field a few days ago
watching the workers install the surface material. He also passed
around a sample of the material. ------- Our club has exceded our goal of $10,000 with a total of $10,344. The next level is $15,000. To
encourage individual donations the Board has voted to match each
member's contribution. Our club is within $1,500 of its original
$10,000 goal. That means we, as individuals, only have to come up with
$750 to be matched by the Club.Overall for the project $15,000 additional has been raised. About
$35,000 is still needed. John
Ryor has a list of businesses we are assigned to contact for
sponsorships and donations. He has details to help with your
solicitation. Ask him how you can help. Jim Wylie says consistency is the key. ------- 12 members and spouses attended the Miracle Field Football Luncheon helping to raise $3,000 View The Better World For Children Web Site.

The Southside Club recently held a Texas Hold-em party and raised $300 for the Miralce Field. AWARDS FOR 2008-2009 Committee
Chairs must submit committee reports to the District online at the
District web site to be eligible for awards. It is easy once you get
