THE LUEBKEMANN'S to Panama City, maybe to celebrate that 54 years.
KATHY COLE had a ruptured appendix in the last week. No report on her current condition.

THE COOPER'S are off for another charity golf tournament in South Carolina. Pam's mother and father began this golf tournament to assist a food bank organization there many years ago. Since her father passed away, her mother has remained active in assuring its success; so much so that she makes sure all her children and grandchildren participate!

THE Esher's off to the wilds of NC for a friends daughters big wedding, and then to  North Georgia for a visit with old Miami ex patriots.
RICHARD ZIEGLER ran in the 5K race at the Watermelon Festival last weekend. He wasn't first or last, but he did finish.

Richard with two Monticello Kiwanians
THE KRAUSES moved to Orange Park to be near their daughter this week
THE BULL'S visiting Boston, Montreal and Toronto the next two weeks.
Later MILLS and SWEAT (separately) will be going in the same general direction and beyond.

AWARDS FOR 2008-2009
Committee Chairs must submit committee reports to the District online at the District web site to be eligible for awards. It is easy once you get the feel of it. Get off to a good start by doing it now. Get the recognition we deserve.

Serving The Club
If you don't feel like you are involved enough in community service there is plenty to be done. Now is time to tell President Dave Colombo how you want to be involved this coming year. And while you are at it tell President Designate Jim Barger how you want to be involved this coming year after October 1st. The list of committees and projects is on page 2.

Sad News
One of the club's charter members and past president, Bonnie Flynn, passed away this week. Visitation at
Culley's Funeral Home on Riggins Road from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, tomorrow, Friday, June 26th.  The funeral will be at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, at 900 W. Tennessee St., on Saturday, starting at 11:00 AM
The aKtion Club members seemed pretty up-tight -- teary -- at the start of the meeting.  They and a lot of other people were bonded to her.   After the meeting's pledge-song-and-prayer, L. T. Thompson gave an outstanding, religious mini-sermon which relaxed them.  Then Bob Downing's son-in-law, a long-time soccer coach, gave an interesting talk about that sport and his experiences in it.  He kept their attention.   He inserted a quiet humor as his talk progressed.  At the end of the meeting the members seemed relaxed -- at peace.
------
Every member ought to experience an AKtion Club Meeting, or project.
-----
President Colombo would like us to make a better effort to support the Aktion Club by attending more of their meetings on a regular basis and participating in more of their projects. This is something you will appreciate.
