To Print Your Newsletter
The following
instructions apply to the MS Internet
Explorer Browser, but other browsers will be similar.
Get the newsletter in the browser window. At the left end of the top menu line click on FILE. Then click on Page Setup. You will get a Page Setup Box. At bottom set all four "margins" to .25 inches. Click OK. This should keep the right side from being cutoff during printing.
To print click on FILE again. Then click on PRINT. A new print box comes up. There should be a "Print Range" section where you can select "Print All" or "Print a Range of Pages". The first time select print "all" so you will have a copy of the entire Newsletter content. On subsequent issues you can select "Print Pages 1 - 5" and you should get all of the current news section.

| This Week's Meeting May 15, 2008 Presiding: RYOR; Pledge: EPPINGER; Song: LUEBKEMANN; Prayer: FACKENDER; Introduction: RYOR; Winner: GRIFFIN; Attendance: 22; Brag For A Buck: BULL, daughter nurse Nancy Ann pictured in full page TMH (ad? announcement?) in the Democrat. RYOR, grandsons entering Naval Academy and Merchant Marine Academy. Guests: ERIC METCALF of Peoples First on Kerry Forest, who helped us during the golf tournament. PROGRAM Al Eppinger with an educational session on "K-Kids Clubs" one of which we are chartering at DeSoto Trail; as well as one in the plainning at Gilchrist Elementary. Also a report on the last Division Council Meeting and the activities reported by the clubs present. And lastly, a personal testimony about his faith in Jesus Christ. First John: 1.  K-Kids Committee You are needed to assist. Elections - May 1st President, Dave Colombo; President Elect, Jim Barger; Directors: until 2010, Johnnye Luebkemann and Tom Fackender; to fill Marvin Doyal's seat until Sept 2009, Steve Mayberry. The Secretary will be named by the new board. The Treasurer position still needs a candidate. Please step forward and be willing to serve. Call Dave. AWARDS FOR 2007-2008 Committee Chairs must submit committee reports to the District online at the District web site to be eligible for awards. It is easy once you get the feel of it. GUARDIAN AD LITEM CHILD ADVOCATES II If you sold or bought ticket to the fund raiser FRIDAY, May 9th, report it to Secretary Jim Varley so he can report it on our monthly report. Board Meeting Minutes April 19th MICCOSUKEE LITTLE LEAGUE Go see them play the next 2 Saturdays from 9 - 1 pm start times. T-Ball at 9 am, Machine pitch at 11 am, older youngsters at 1 pm. They will give us a program May 22nd to show us how our money was used. Havana Club Golf Fund Raiser Tee off following a lunch on May 30th. $50 per person. George is trying to get a foursome together. Call him. Serving The Club If you don't feel like you are involved enough in community service there is plenty to be done. May Club Activities *Two AKtion Club meetings *AKtion Club Dog Wash each 2nd Saturday (May 10th) of the month NOTE: If you are aware of any activities that should be added above advise the editor and the secretary. Provide secretary Jim Varley with details of money spent, number of members participating and miles traveled. MEMBER NOTES THE DOWNINGS will be cruising alonmg the Atlantic Coast until early June. THE BULL'S survived a potentially very dangerous I-10 sideswiping on the way back from Alabama and Biloxi. Keep our ill and grieving members and families, and travelers in your prayers. K-KIDS PROJECT The DeSoto Trail administration accepted our offer to set up the K-Kids program. Our committee is composed of Al Eppinger, Tommy Mills, John Ryor and LeRoy Thompson. The Division 3 objective is to have each club sponsor at least one new K-Kids Club. This club will start when school begins in August and will be formed in conjunction with the Student Council. New Kiwanis Club at Southwood The club is now officially organized and is meeting twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at noon at The Southwood Welcome Center (Subject to change). There are 21 women and 11 men members. Their Chartering Dinner will be May 19th. Our members are encouraged to attend to support this new club. Tickets are $20 per person. See Al to get them. Two of the members, Peggy Hinson and Jim Wylie, helped with our hole-in-one monitoring. If you know of people who live or work in that area give their name and number to Al Eppinger so he can invite them. Miracle Field News  About $60,000 still needs to be raised. Each individual is encouraged to contribute on their own. Jim Wylie is giving this project his all. Call him to see how you can help him. Click here to print donation form. Florida Foundation Caring Corner at the District Convention The money goes to the Florida Kiwanis Foundation to use for the benefit
of Sponsored Programs. We have already received a $5,000 grant this
year for our Playground Project and the Division 3 Miracle Field project received $10,000. President John Ryor would like us to make a better effort to support the Aktion Club by attending more of their meetings on a regular basis and participating in more of their projects. This is something you will appreciate. ------ On Tuesday, the 29th, District Governor Mark Taylor visited the State Cabinet meeting and received a proclamation honoring Florida Kiwanis from Governor Crist. AKtion Club member Resa and a member of both Circle-K and Key Club were in attendance to meet both Governors. ------ Collecting canned and dry food for ECHO at each Meeting. ------ Let's help The AKtion Club collect Box Tops For Education for Gretchen Everhart ----- Aktion Club Project SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED “Sleeping Children Around the World” (SCAW) These kits cost $25. A total check for $558 was written to Kiwanis International. Key Club  Web Site Robert Moore was named Div 3 Distinguished Key Club Lt. Gov. New Lt. Governors are: 3A, Mikeal George; and 3B, Megan Torrence. ------ Maria Harper, our Earl Bufton Scholarship Winner has chosen Stetson University in DeLand, FL; She says.." it's small, it's warm, and I will be running on the team there, so I am excited." She and her mother will be at the May 22nd meeting soon so we can present her with her check. She was also named Runner-Up in the Athletic Category among the Leon County Best and Brightest with a photo in the Democrat. She is a runner. ----- Meeting Dates & Time No more meeting for this year. This year they had an outstanding 3500 hours of community service.
