How To Print Your Newsletter
The following instructions apply to the MS Internet Explorer Browser, but other browsers will be similar.

Get the newsletter in the browser window. At the left end of the top menu line click on FILE. Then click on Page Setup. You will get a Page Setup Box. At bottom set all four "margins" to .25 inches. Click OK. This should keep the right side from being cutoff during printing.

To print click on FILE again. Then click on PRINT.  A new print box comes up. There should be a "Print Range" section where you can select "Print All" or "Print a Range of Pages".  If you select print "all" normally it will be 7 pages. On subsequent issues you can select "Print Pages 1 - 7" and you should get all of the current news section.

To print page 2 with the permanent club information click on page 2 below and use the same instructions.

May 14th, 2009

PROGRAM

Maria Harper
 former Chiles Key Club co-president and last year's Colonial Bufton Scholarship recipient with details on her first year at Stetson Univeristy in Health Sciences (pre-med) and plans for the future. Running cross country, community service via the Bonner Scholar Program; coaching DeLand High School pole vault; a service trip to Honduras. Living up to the level we recognized as our Bufton Scholarship recipient last year. Her mother, Marie, accompanied her.

Nominations
Elections will be next week, May 21st.
The nominations are: President, Jim Barger; President Elect, Richard Zeigler; Secretary, Charlie Esher; Treasurer, Bob Downing; Directors for  two years, George Sweat and Pam Cooper. Already elected as Director in place of Dennis Faust is Tommy Mills until this September 30th.
Thanks to those who have agreed to serve the club in these important leadership positions.

Training for the new officers
will be June 13th, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, at the Fellowship Baptist Church on North Monroe St. Everyone is invited and this is a good session especially for newer members who have never attended before.

So far the proceeds work out to a net of about $7,700 with just a few expenses left.
We raised $150 for the AKtion Club with the Hit-The-Green contest.

Committee Chairs must submit committee reports to the District online at the District web site to be eligible for awards. It is easy once you get the feel of it. Get off to a good start by doing it now. Get the recognition we deserve.

Ruby K Award
If you have recruited 5 or more members you are eligible for this award; that is, if you can remember their names. Give the names of your recruits to George Sweat and maybe he will get the pin for you. Awards are made for increments of five members recruited.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARDS
Tell Secretary Al Eppinger how many years are shown on your current perfect attendance tab, if you have one. Also, tell him how many years you have earned. This includes previous membership in other Kiwanis clubs. This is not for calender years. It is for one year of consecutive  meetings and/or makeups.

HOW TO MAKE UP MISSED MEETINGS TO MAINTAIN YOUR PERFECT ATTENDANCE RECORD
Simply attend a meeting of another club, including AKtion, Key, K-Kids, or another Kiwanis Club, a Division Council meeting, a club project, or a Board meeting.
With all
these possibilities there is little reason not to have perfect attendance.
