The Governor’s theme for Kiwanis is being Super Models in our communities.  He presented his goals, emphasized Kiwanis presence in every school, continuing community service, improving Kiwanis image, increasing membership especially with new women members, new member participation, increasing fun and the social aspects, and funding Key Club endowment.  As part of Kiwanis International Kiwanis One Day project, he is asking every Kiwanis club to spend April 5th, 2008 at a local youth league park to encourage our youth and provide positive role models.  The First lady’s project is Guardian Ad Litem, and she spoke at some length about this program and presented a speaker to describe the utter need for volunteers for this worthwhile program.
The speakers were followed by the performance of a brass quintet from the Tallahassee Brass led by our own Mike Phillips. It was a most enjoyable and informative evening. John Ryor received a note of appreciation from The Governor for a successful event; also thanks from Lt. Gov. Al Eppinger.
