To Print Your Newsletter
The following
instructions apply to the MS Internet
Explorer Browser, but other browsers will be similar.
Get the newsletter in
the browser
window. At the left end of the top menu line click on FILE. Then click
on Page Setup. You will get a Page Setup Box. At bottom set all four
"margins"
to .25 inches. Click OK. This should keep the right side from being
cutoff
during printing.
To print click on
FILE again.
Then click on PRINT. A new print box comes up. There should
be a
"Print Range" section where you can select "Print All" or "Print a
Range
of Pages". The first time select print "all" so you will have a copy of
the entire Newsletter content. On subsequent issues you can select
"Print
Pages 1 - 5" and you should get all of the current news section. Click To Go To
Page 2
to see the permanent items of the newsletter.

Believe it or not, soon it will be time to start prospecting for golf tournament donors/sponsors. You will soon receive the necessary information. 2008 Prize Donors
2008 Sponsors and refresh your memory about who you contacted last year. Al Eppinger has kindly agreed to be the new chair for the Golf Fund Raiser. However he will need a replacement as club secretary. No experience required. Training provided. "There ain't nothin to it." So step forward and learn a lot about Kiwanis while serving the club in a very important capacity.
Dictionaries For 3rd Graders The
Division 3 chair will have the project ready to go in January.
Norm Mears has
volunteered to chair the Dictionary Project and Pam Cooper has agreed
to assist. Thanks to Norm and Pam for stepping up. Eppinger, Barger and
Ryor will also be on the committee. Our schools will be DeSoto Trail, Hawks Rise and Gilchrist Killearn Homes Association Project In
January or February we will be building trash can containers for the
KHA parks. George Sweat has been our contact with KHA on this. K-KIDS PROJECTS The DeSoto Trail K-Kids Our committee members are "LT" Thompson, Eric Metcalf, Jim varley and John Ryor. Their charter was presented December 3rd with VARLEY, EPPINGER, COLOMBO, MILLS, LaTOUR, COOPER, RYOR and THOMPSON present. A real good showing. ---- In planning stages: Earthday Art Project, Cleanup of Killearn Acres Pimlico Park --------- The
Gilchrist Elementary K-Kids club Our committee members are: Al Eppinger, George Sweat, Kathy Cole, Tommy Mills. Their charter was presented Thursday, Dec 11th. 47 members inducted. Charter presented to president Cameron Madesen by
President Dave Colombo. Principal Grantham welcomed group. Faculty Sponsors Ms
Whitaker and Mr. Rodenborg handed out Membership certificates. George Sweat and
Kathy Cole handed out Pins and member manuals. Dessert afterwards. Kiwanians
were George, Kathy, John Ryor, Al, Dave, Chas LaTour, and Tommy Mills. Awards
given to Ms Whitaker, Mr. Rodenborg, and Principal Grantham by Keynote speaker Al Eppinger who
spoke for the Division 3. --- There
may be a "Brain Brawl" type competition developed between K-Kids, Key
Clubbers and Kiwanians. Brush up so you can win a place on the team. ----- We have received our first banner patch for sponsoring the DeSoto K-Kids. AKtion Club Adopted Family Bob
Bull reported on the single mother with 5 children, AGES 4-8 who has been
adopted this year by the AKtion Club. Bob requests that we bring in
canned goods or dry goods for this worthy purpose. Not just for Thankgiving, but continuing through Christmas and beyond. HELP FOR THE WRAPPING PARTY December 11th at 6:30 PM. Go and help Bob Downing and Tommy Mills and enjoy a special evening. HUMAN &

Ruby K Award If
you have recruited 5 or more members you are eligible for this award;
that is, if you can remember their names. Give the names of your
recruits to George Sweat and maybe he will get the pin for you. Awards
are made for increments of five members recruited.
PERFECT
ATTENDANCE AWARDS Tell
Secretary Jim Varley how many years are shown on
your current perfect
attendance tab, if you have one. Also, tell him how many years you have
earned. This includes previous membership in other Kiwanis clubs. This
is not for calender years. It is for one year of consecutive
meetings and/or makeups. ---- HOW TO MAKE UP MISSED MEETINGS Simply attend a meeting of another club, including AKtion, Key, K-Kids,
or another Kiwanis Club, a Division Council meeting, a club project, or
a Board meeting. With all these possibilities there is little reason not to have perfect attendance. Short,

CLUB
PROGRAMS
6:30 - 7:30 PM Every member ought to experience an AKtion Club Meeting. ------ December 11th Christmas Wrapping Party Spiritual Aims Program by our own LeRoy Thompson. He talked
about the birth of Jesus, and the time for giving, handled questions
such as Santa Clause. We received 30 presents so each one of the family
of 5 received 6 each, and lots of food. Helping Bob Downing were
John Ryor, Tommy Mills, and Ben Colmery. Bob Downing admitted
that, in spite of his detailed organization, he lost total control in
short order. ----- Exec Editor, Bob Gabordi of the Democrat had to reschedule for the first meeting in January. Join in.
---- President Colombo would like us to make a better effort to support the Aktion Club
by
attending more of their meetings on a regular basis and participating
in more of their projects. This is something you will appreciate. ------

Give them to Richard Ziegler. -------- December 8th Meeting John Ryor, George Sweat and Richard Ziegler attended. After there meeting the members wrote letters to Santa. For each
letter written, Macy's donated $1 to Make a Wish Foundation. _____ The Lord Lawton Pageant February 2nd, Monday, at 6pm. Plan to attend this entertaining event. ---- The Col. Earl Bufton Scholarship committee will be Ziegler, Robbins and Ryor. -------- Meeting Schedule for remainder of year: 2nd
