Minutes of the Killearn Kiwanis Club.
President Jim Barger calls the meeting to order at 7:04 and proceeds to open with a prayer asking for the blessings for all, including the Haitian Nation.
Present: Barger, Downing, Ziegler, Luebkemann, Esher, Fakender, Mears, Sweat and Eppeinger. Special guest Lt. Governor Donna..
Minutes of December meeting accepted after a severe tongue lashing of the secretary by two members for mis-spelling their names. In self defense I fired the typist that even misspelled my name. The shame of it all.
Treasurer’s report accepted, with various comments by Bob regarding C D’s rolling over and that we are prepared to fund the Miccosukee project.
Committee’s reports: GOLF: Al Eppinger presented an extensive program whereby enlisting all sponsors into a year-round opportunity to help the Club while getting additional recognition for their donations, primarily the golf tournament. Al will reduce the presentation to writing for future Board approval. KEY CLUB: Richard Zeigler gave us, Bufton house report, Mar 1, @ 5:30, Chiles H S. Convention, April 15-18 presented student costs for meeting, travel etc. request less that the budgeted sum, his travel also approved. Road clean up February 13th , Proctor Road starting at Centerville approximately 2 miles, glad Its not me. Zone meeting January 31st at Godby H S 10:30- 13:00 PM. Scholarship applications out for Board review February 17th .MEMBERSHIP: John Ryor presented a far reaching plan for a promoting membership, not the least of which including setting a goal of approx-irately 40 members. Attached is a detailed summary of his entire missal. AKTION CLUB: Bob Downing reports a fun time (?) at the last meeting and reminding us of the meeting Thursday at St. John’s, 6:30
K KIDS: Desoto Trail Kids to visit Heritage Oaks for some R & R. John having some problems with sponsor contact, I’m sure with his tact and technique he will solve this exasperating situation. Gilcrest, had on clean up day a surprising 108 bodies available, he was surprised and pleased.
Old business: Miccosukee Boys/Girls club presented proposal for the use of the aforementioned sum to be given by this Club, detailed proposal to follow. Zone conference at Lake City noted. Interclub meeting Thursday 1/21//10 (tomorrow)New Business, all covered in the above mentioned committee reports. Lt. Governor Donna reminded us of the Governors Dinner at the Ramada, on March 22. Reminded us to bring baby items for Haitian refugee donations. She also commended and thanked our Club for all of our achievements and that we continue our quest of 1 child 1 day etc.
