Board minutes, February 17, 2010
President Jim Barger called the meeting to order precisely a 7:00, proceeded with prayer for the well being of all and sundry.
Present were, George Sweat, Richard Ziegler, Johnnye Luebkemann, Al Eppinger, John Ryor, Charles Esher. Guest Jim Wylie.
Minutes of the January meeting accepted as read.
Treasurers report presented by Barger due to absents of Downing, report accepted as presented.
ANNOUNCEMENTS by Barger replete with the acceptance of Jan Collier who has been reinstated as member under our new membership conditions. Reminder of the City Club’s “cookout’ at the Southern Scholarship House on 2/24/2010, all are invited and asked to bring non perishables to stock the House, note Walmart gift card is suitable. Also Division 3, dinner on 3/22/2010, to honor the District Governor at the Ramada Inn, $30 bucks will get you in the door.
GOLF, Committee Chair Eppinger finalized the Golf tournament applications, urging all to apply early by introducing discounts for early bird deposits of fee’s. $10 for singles, $20 each for a foursome trying to beat the competition for our April Date.
KEY CLUB, chair Ziegler, with the aid of Ryor and Robbins selected Allison Dod as resipient of the Bufton scholarship. Street clean up and their first meeting went well, picture poster approved for State function, Ziegler’s request to spend allotted funds on advertisement in DCON bulletin.
MEMBERSHIP, Ryor reported, details for trying for 40 members, Desoto Trail K kids Club’s sponsor not responding as he would have liked, will try cat tails.
AKTION CLUB, no report.
OLD,
Miccosukee Boys and Girls Club presented two explanations (and a 2 page
dissertation for justification, copy attached) for the use of the 5
grand we donated.
GUEST Wylie described several methods to support houses, 1 here & 1 in Gainesville. matter tabled.
Arsenio Coston of CKI requested $ support for upcoming DCON, which was approved.
