Directors Meeting Minutes

Colombo called the meeting to order at 0700 HRS.

Minutes of the 19 August meeting were reviewed and approved
with minor change.
Treasurer’s Report was read and approved: Jim Barger reported the following balances:
ADMIN: $2335, FOUNDATION: $16,673: FOUNDATION CD: $.10,614:
FOUNDATION TOTAL:
$.27,169.
OLD BUSINESS:
- The
alternate dues proposal for new membership was approved with minor
modification to be effective October1.
- New
officer installation will be October 1st by Lt.Gov. Donna
Wells.
- The
dictionary project is underway with Norm Mears. Approved increasing number to 460 to
include Swift Creek, Gilchrist, Desoto Trails and Community Christian. Cost approved at $600
NEW BUSINESS:
- The
club survey will be undertaken by President Elect Jim Barger.
- The
board recognized a surplus in the Foundation and will look for new
projects to be included in next year’s budget.
- Due to
the payment of International and Florida dues in February and again in
October there may be a shortfall in the short term in the Administrative
budget. Jim will encourage members
to catch up on their dues and review the situation with the club.
- Approved
the $150 for the two K Kids clubs International dues for next year.
- President
Dave will get someone to plan the member guest social in October.
COMMITTEE REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- New
Key club officers met and are planning for New Year. Interest meeting was held on 17th. 36 potential members attended. Our club leadership and Richard attended
the District kick-off.
- K Kids
are electing new student councils which will provide our new members. Meetings will start in October.
- Aktion
will recognize Ben Colmery for his role in forming our Aktion club and
nurturing it through the early years at the club meeting on the 17th.
The club needs a woman to attend
their meetings to help with the needs of the women members. Their banquet will be on October 15th
at 6:00 PM.
Kiwanian’s should advise if they plan to attend.
- Road
clean-up to be on September 19 at 8:00.
Salvation Army and Hospice plans underway.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00.
