Monthly Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

Presiding: President Jim Barger called the meeting to order at 7:00 AM, October 21, 2009

Board members, Jim Barger, Bob Downing, Charles Esher, Richard Ziegler.

Directors: Norm Mears, Tom Fackender, Tommy Mills, Jim Varley.

George Sweat, membership chairman.

Minutes of the September 16th Meeting reviewed and accepted as written.

Treasurers report was read and discussed and approved: The following balances were approved. Administration $3,262.05, Foundation $15,979.28,

Foundation CD’s $10,614.00, TOTALS $ 29,855.33.

Committee reports:

Golf, no report,

Key Club, Richard reports successful meeting, dues all paid.

Membership, George reports new member, Jerry V McBee, Jim reminds us of the Blue Light Special, program of members looking out for new members. Reminding all of new membership requirements. George Sweat allows that he would like to be relieved of membership chair, I think here that Pres Jim’s arm twisting procedure will commence. Discussion on Leroy and Steve’s comments on leaving the Club, more arm twisting??

K-Kids, Question of dues paid, John Ryor to report,

Builders Club, no report

Dictionary Project, Norm has the books and 360 labels in his garage, K kids to apply labels, date to be determined.

Old Business, Pres Jim still looking for more surveys will recap soon. K Kids dues, John absent, Programs OK Davis House, Timberlane Rd., Aluminum Tabs/labels, Youth services, Young Children, Membership and Education, No nominations

New business: Pres Jim presented 2 budgets for discussion, the first was approved with the provision that it can be adjusted as required.

Charley suggested that Tommy to bring back report on Miccosukee area’s needs for help on both the school and after school programs for perhaps yard equipment or perhaps just volunteer time or dollars. This in line with Pres Jim’s comments regarding the excess in the Clubs exchequer, along with other charities possibilities.
