There is no more information forthcoming from Killearn Parks. George will revisit with them.

3. Key Club (Ziegler) Lord Lawton went well for the Chiles H.S. students. Entry fee was reduced from $5.00 to $3.00. Approximately 350 attended. Three (3) versus 5 students will be attending the convention this year with 1 teacher chaperone. The baseball field sign at Chiles H.S. has been re-newed at the rate of $350.00 p.a.

4. It was reiterated that the banquet in honor of the Florida District Governor’s visit constituted an Interclub.

5. Golf Committee (Nuzum) Golf bag tags are in the process of being manufactured. Tommy Mills volunteered his hotel guests to make the names to be applied to these tags. Tags are due in 1 week.

6. New Southside Kiwanis. They need funding. They have 28 potential members. The board approved the Killearn Kiwanis Club purchase 35 @ $3.00 ($105.00) Kiwanis International Lapel pins as a start-up donation to this new club. (Note: These KI pins actually cost $3.25 each.)

7. Vincella Smith, President of CKI submitted a letter to the Board requesting support in the amount of $200.00 to defray expenses for 2 CKI officers/members to attend the International CKI Convention in Denver Colorado this year. The board approved $200.00 total for these 2 officers to attend the International convention.

8. A Day at the Ballpark. This is a Governor Taylor initiative. Saturday, 5APR08 is the target date when FSU plays Virginia. Discussion followed. George Sweat will check with Miccosukee Little League coaches. We will participate, but item was held in abeyance because of liability concerns. Cost???

9. Dictionary Day. Nancy Shank, former LT Governor, Division 3, will coordinate. LTG Eppinger suggests waiting until fall, the start of school versus now, the end of the school year.

10. Highland Games at the Tallahassee Fairgrounds (Late April 2008). Keith Taylor is in charge of the libations committee and needs worker to serve beverages. A question of underage imbibers was raised. Apparently, our volunteers could keep any tips generated during our tour of duty. No decision was made.

Meeting adjourned at 8:09 AM.
