Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

Presiding: Pres. John Ryor called the meeting to order at 0710 HRS.

Board members present: President, John Ryor; Pres. Elect, David Columbo; Secretary, Jim Varley; Remaining on the Board: Immediate Past Pres., Tommy Mills.

Directors: Johnnye Luebkemann & John Robbins (until 9/08); S. Mayberry, and D. Faust (Until 9/09).

Committee Chairs: R. Ziegler (Key), D. Columbo (Comm./Senior), Mills(Diaper Drop/Vets), G. Sweat (Membership).

Other Members present: LTG E. Al Eppinger

Minutes of the 21MAY08 meeting were read by Dave Colombo and approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report was read and approved as read. Jim Varley, filling in for Jim Barger, reported the following balances A/O 05JUN08:

ADMIN: $985.23, FOUNDATION: $16,172.45, FOUNDATION CD: $10,456.33,

TOTAL: $27,614.01 (See ATT. to hard copy.)

Foundation balance includes $441.00 and $204.00 generated by AKtion Club members selling chances on the 8^th Hole during 2007 and 2008 tournaments, respectively.

OLD BUSINESS:

Sweat – Had no further information on improvements to the park on Shannon Lake.

Colombo – Discussed the Vials for Life Program, an EMT program.

Varley advised the Board that former members Phillips and Taylor have been dropped from the roles for non-payment of dues, effective date 22MAY08.

Interclub at Quincy Kiwanis meeting on 12JUN08 with 5 Killearn members attending.

NEW BUSINESS:

Ziegler will meet with Principal Cox, Chiles, to identify a new faculty sponsor for the Key Club.

Sweat proposed Eric Metcalf’s name to the board as a prospective new member. The board approved him as a new member, effective date 01JUL08.

Eppinger and Mills were approved by the board to be Killearn Kiwanis delegates to the International Kiwanis Convention in Orlando this year. Delegate forms have been submitted to K. I.

President Ryor was approved by the Board to represent Killearn Kiwanis at the District Convention in Jacksonville this year.

Board approved Eppinger as new Secretary for the forthcoming year (2008-09).
