The Kiwanis Family of Sponsored Clubs
The aKtion Club, sponsored by "Killearn-Kiwanis" with the assistance
of the Leon Area Resource Center (LARC), is a service club for developmentally
- disabled adults. It is different from a Kiwanis Club only in that its
members need help in running their club. Killearn Kiwanis funded the club
start-up costs and helps defray some of its ongoing expenses. Also, we
help with the running of the club and participate with them in their community
service and fund raising projects. These projects included a quarterly
Timberlane Road cleanup; Animal Shelter dog washes; car wash fund raisers,
Christmas support of a "Caring Connection Family", and child nursery cleanups
and toy washes. The club normally meets twice monthly at on the 2nd and
4th Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church at the corner
of N. Monroe St. and Call St. Use the private Call Street entrance.
