Division 3 Council Meeting Minutes, Monday April 21, 2008
The next meeting will be July 14th, 2008.

Approval
of Minutes of January 14, 2008 meeting which were emailed to club
officers. Minutes are emailed to club officers who are requested to
insure other club members are made aware of the contents. If there are
any objections or recommended changes they should be emailed to the Lt.
Gov. and secretary as soon as possible.
Treasurer’s Report, presented and approved.
CLUB REPORTS
Introduction
of persons attending: 35 members in attendance from 9 Kiwanis Clubs
including the new Southside Club with 6 members, Key Club and Circle-K.
Clubs not represented were Greensboro, Madison, and Perry. Five clubs
qualified for Interclub credit.

Old Business
Address
election of Lt. Gov. Elect, to substitute for Jon Winters for 08/09.
Keith Roberts of the Lake Jackson was nominated by Earl Cushing of Lake
Jackson. Earl moved that due to the urgency of the situation the bylaws
be set aside so the elections can proceed. The motion passed and Keith
Roberts was elected unanimously.
NOTE: Donna Wells of the Capital City Club has agreed to serve as Lt Gov for 2009-2010.
Division/club
Web-Site and Activities Calendar - Clubs should submit web site changes
to the pages maintained by Chuck Walter directly to him via email, as
well as calender items such as fund raisers, etc.
Lt Gov. Al encouraged each club to do something in line with “A day at the ball park, April 5th.
Guardian
Ad Litem ticket sales for May 9th - Marcia Hilty-Reinshuttle and
Catherine Blyth explained their Child Advocate II fund raiser and
requested clubs to help sell tickets. They also offered to do a program
for the clubs.
Lt Gov Al’s visit to clubs. He will be making
his Official Visit to club board meetings and needs a schedule for each
club.
International Convention - elect 2 delegates should be named from each club.
District
Convention - Clubs are encouraged to attend the convention which is
convenient in Jacksonville. Lt. Gov. Al asked for club input from clubs
about having a Division 3 dinner at the convention.
Public Service
Announcements -Bill Zotolli (Tallahassee Club) suggested that each club
making PSAs send a copy to all other clubs. Email addresses are in the
Handbook. Also, PSAs can be emailed to Secretary Chuck Walter and he
will forward them to the Division email address list. Emails only,
please.
Review last Quarter - The new Southside Club was organized,
and all payments were made to International, District and The Southern
Scholarship Foundation.
Infant Mortality - Jere Moore, of Northside,
reported that the working group was progressing slowly, and he had told
them Kiwanis will help when some work is identified.
Identify any follow-up items - none were identified.

Lt. Gov. Training - April 23-29, Lake Mary
Club
Officer Elections and reports should be submitted to District & Lt.
Gov. not later than mid May using the appropriate form.
Lt. Gov. Al
established a Bylaws Review and Update Committee of 6 including the Lt.
Gov., one rep from the East Clubs (Madison, Monticello, Perry), 1 from
the West Clubs (Quincy, Greensboro, Havana) and 3 from the Tallahassee
area clubs, Tallahassee, Capital City and Lake Jackson (Chair, Keith
Roberts). Reps should submit change proposals via email to Lt. Gov. Al
and Keith Roberts.
Club Leadership Education, Saturday, June 7th, Location to be determined – Judy Becker
District
Governor’s visit to the Cabinet for the traditional Proclamation
presentation will be April 28th and 29th. He will also unofficially
attend the Tallahassee Club meeting an visit some of our local projects.

Division Key Club awards, plans and activities
- Robert Moore named Distinguished Key Club Lt. Gov. He will be
followed by two new Lt. Gov’s. of a split division (Megan
Torrence, 3B, and Mikeal George, 3A). Heather Dieter and Robert Moore
received Leader Leader pins. Key Clubs are well underway at East
Gadsden and Aucilla. Heather reported on the expenses involved in going
to the convention in Denver July 8-15 and asked that clubs consider
helping cover those costs.

Miracle Field Update
- Jim Wylie - Storm water permit was issued by NW Florida Water
Management. General Construction permit is still pending. About $60,000
is still to be raised, but many grant requests are still to be
answered. Genesis Group is still involved with pro-bono design, much to
their credit. Some ground breaking is expected to take place in June or
July.
Southern Scholarship House
- Jim Wylie - reported on a letter from the Southern Scholarship
Foundation (SSF) regarding how they will handle the funds contributed
by Division 3 for maintenance. Basically, it will be kept separate and
spent only on approval of the Division Council. SSF President Mary
Mayfield commented about their appreciation of Division support and
invited clubs, and individual members, to visit the Ralph Davis Kiwanis
House. Just call to make arrangements. The SSF maintenance has provided
a wish list for work to be done this summer while the house is vacant.
A motion was made that the Division move $1470 into the restricted
account with SSF for the work and Wylie to report in July on what is
being done. Passed.
